Urodynamics & Diagnostics

Urodynamics is the mainly used method to diagnose pathologies related to the lower urinary tract.

In particular, it is about:

  • Obstruction, in men
  • Incontinence, in women
  • Psychological voiding dysfunctions, in children
  • Neurogenic bladder

Tests to assess patient's health are mainly:

  • Uroflowmetry: in this test you measure the ejected volum from urethra. It is the only non invasive test
  • Cystometry: it evaluates bladder functionality during filling phase, by measuring intra-vesical and intra-abdominal pressures
  • Flow-Pressure Study: it evaluates bladder functionality during voiding phase
  • Urethral Pressure Profile: it evaluates the integrity of urethral sphincter, by measuring urethral pressure all along urethral length
